How to Duplicate Selected Pages in a PDF
A repeated instruction page or worksheet can be useful inside a PDF packet. PDFSwan Duplicate pages makes one additional copy of each selected page and inserts it immediately after that source page in the new document.
Open Duplicate pages ↗When to use Duplicate pages
Choose this workflow when you want selected pages repeated in place. It does not replace the number-of-copies option in a print dialog, and it does not append all duplicates to the end. Use Organize PDF afterward if the repeated pages belong elsewhere.
Step-by-step instructions
Load the source file
Open the Duplicate pages workspace using the button above. Choose the source file from your device or drag it into the drop area. Wait for preparation to finish and check the displayed filename. Work from a copy you can retain for comparison, and clear the workspace if you selected the wrong source.
Enter Pages to repeat
Replace the default 1 with a page number, range, or comma-separated combination such as 2, 5-6. Use physical source positions rather than printed page labels.
Check the expected output count
Each selected source page is duplicated once. Selecting three distinct pages in a 10-page document creates 13 output pages. The finished document must stay within 300 pages.
Download and verify the result
After processing finishes, select Download PDF. Save the new file before closing the tab or creating another result. Open the actual download in a compatible application and compare it with the source. Check the content and format you need rather than relying only on the success message.
A practical example
In a five-page training packet, page 3 is a worksheet each learner should complete twice. Enter 3 and create the output. Its source-page sequence becomes 1, 2, 3, 3, 4, 5. Check that both worksheet copies are present before sending the packet.
Tips for a better result
Understand overlapping selections
Repeated mentions of the same source page do not request multiple additional copies. Selection is treated as a set of source positions, with one inserted duplicate for each selected page.
Reorder after duplication if needed
To place repeated worksheets together at the end, create the duplicate output first and then use Organize PDF. Add any final visible page numbers after the new order is complete.
Troubleshooting
Why did a repeated number not create many copies?
The tool duplicates each selected source page once, even if you mention that position more than once.
Why does the output exceed the limit?
Duplicated pages count toward the 300-page output maximum. Select fewer pages or split the job.
File limits, privacy and keeping your originals
PDFSwan processes document bytes locally in your browser without a document upload. The task limits are 50 MB total input, 60 files, and 300 PDF pages. Actual performance depends on your device and browser memory. Encrypted PDFs are rejected; choose an unlocked copy you are authorized to edit. Keep your originals, because page operations and edits may change bookmarks, forms, links, annotations, and existing digital signatures.
The home page includes Google Analytics and DeanonX site-tracking scripts. Local document processing does not mean the website has no third-party tracking. Download the result before closing the tab, and use Clear workspace to remove files from the active workspace when finished.
Frequently asked questions
Where are duplicates inserted?
Immediately after their corresponding original pages.
Can I repeat an entire page range?
Yes. Enter an ascending range such as 3-6; each page in that range gets one duplicate.
Ready to try it?
Follow the steps with a copy of your document, then check the downloaded result before sharing it.
